Coming Soon ...

Lying between Manchester and its neighbor Salford, Trafford is a relatively small, but nevertheless very important town in the Northwest of England that is probably best known for the major shopping centers, sports stadia, and museums that it houses, as well as being one of the main centers of the University of Manchester.

Old Trafford Football stadium, sometimes known as the Theater of Dreams is the second largest football ground in the UK, and can seat more than seventy thousand fans. The ground is the home of the legendary Manchester United, and is regularly filled by fans when the team plays at home. Getting tickets for a game can be a real struggle, but if you get the chance to attend a match it is well worth going for the unforgettable atmosphere that is on offer.

Just round the corner from the football stadium is the other Old Trafford. This is the home of Lancashire Cricket Club, and is regularly host to international test matches and one day internationals. During the summer, the cricket ground is also used for a large pop festival – Sounds of the City, which attracts some of the biggest names in music.

One of the other attractions of Trafford is the Trafford Center. This is the biggest shopping mall in Europe, and is conveniently located just outside the city. Aside from a vast selection of shops from electronics through to high fashion, the center also boasts a range of different restaurants and a theater that hosts a variety of different shows throughout the year including many musicals.

One of the major advantages of staying in Trafford is the proximity of a number of different attractions. Aside from Manchester itself, with its range of museums such as the Urbis Museum of Modern City Life, there is also the Museum of Science and Industry, which recently hosted a collection of work from Gunter Van Hagens – the noted anatomist.

Heading out of Trafford to the north, you can be in the rolling countryside of Lancashire, or head further towards the beautiful Lake District where within an hour of the urban sprawl of Manchester, you can find complete peace and quiet amongst the mountains and waterways of Cumbria, which have attracted visitors for hundreds of years.
